Four steps to covered
Most people finish on the first call. If we need a document from you, we tell you exactly which one and why.
One number, a real person, no phone tree. Tell us who is in the household and roughly what comes in each month.
Premium tax credit, cost-sharing reductions, or Medicaid and Florida KidCare if that fits better. We say which, out loud.
We look up your doctors and your prescriptions before we recommend anything, because a cheap plan your clinic does not take is not cheap.
We submit it with you on the line, send you the confirmation, and answer the phone in March when a bill confuses you.

The metal is not the quality of the plan. It is the split between what you pay monthly and what you pay when you use it.

The highest premium and the smallest bills. Rare in Florida.

There are two separate savings on Marketplace plans and they work differently. The premium tax credit lowers what you pay each month. Cost-sharing reductions lower your deductible and your copays, and they only attach to Silver plans. You can qualify for one, both, or neither.

Florida did not expand Medicaid, so there is a gap where some adults earn too little for a Marketplace credit and too much for Medicaid. Children are different: Florida KidCare covers a lot of families who assume they earn too much. We check that first, before we quote you anything.

What people say afterwards
Nothing. The carrier pays us a commission set by the state when you enroll, and it is the same commission whichever plan you choose. Your premium is not higher for using an agent than for enrolling yourself on HealthCare.gov.
Open Enrollment for a Marketplace plan runs from November 1 to January 15. Enroll by December 15 and coverage generally starts January 1; after that it usually starts February 1. Outside those dates you need a qualifying life event, which opens a 60-day Special Enrollment Period.
Losing other coverage, moving, getting married, having or adopting a child, certain income changes, gaining citizenship or lawful presence, and leaving incarceration are the common ones. Choosing to drop your coverage does not count, and neither does simply getting sick.
The premium tax credit is based on your household income, your household size and the cost of the benchmark Silver plan in your county. Separately, if your income falls roughly between 100% and 250% of the federal poverty level, a Silver plan also carries cost-sharing reductions that lower your deductible and copays.
That is the Florida coverage gap and it is real. Premium tax credits start at 100% of the federal poverty level, and Florida did not expand Medicaid to cover adults below that. Children are usually a different story: Florida KidCare covers many families who assume they earn too much. Call and we will check the household properly.
